The Langtang Valley Trek is a condensed yet immersive experience. Each day of this moderate trek begins early, typically at around 6:30 am. You can enjoy a hearty breakfast featuring local breads and beverages such as tea, coffee, or seabuckthorn juice, while taking in the mountain views. After breakfast, you will head out to the trails toward your overnight destination.

Day 1

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

During this 7 to 8-hour drive, you will experience the bustling city transition into quaint countryside, offering magnificent views of the rural settlements along the winding mountain roads. Your drive, which takes you along the Trishuli River, offers initial views of the Ganesh Himal and Manasu ranges as you head to the trailhead of Syabrubesi.

Day 2

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

Your trekking days begin today. From Syabrubesi, you will cross several suspension bridges and take on gradual ascents alongside the Langtang Khola. Your journey continues into dense sub-tropical rhododendron and bamboo forests. Keep a keen eye on your surroundings, and if luck is by your side, you will find rare views of the elusive red pandas and various bird species.

You will pass charming villages like Domen and Pairo, enjoying the rhythm of the cascading waterfall before reaching your overnight destination of Lama Hotel.

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa and hike to Kyanjin Ri

Day 5

A day hike to Tserko Ri from Kyanjin Gompa

You have come to the pinnacle of your 8-day Langtang Valley Trek. Today, you will conquer the physically demanding Tserko Ri. The trek begins before dawn. With the help of flashlights, you will navigate carefully across the rugged Himalayan terrain. The pre-dawn hike is to ensure you reach the Tserko Ri vantage point for the spectacular sunrise. From the summit of this high-elevation point, you will find incredible views of Langtang Lirung, Yubra, and the Langshisha Glacier.

After soaking in these rewarding views, you will head back to Kyanjin Gompa for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6

Trek down from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

After a demanding ascent, it is time to head back to the lower regions. But, before your descent, you can explore the Kyanjin Gompa and the local yak cheese factory.

The downhill hike is relatively easy. You will retrace your steps across the high-altitude pastures and toward the sub-tropical forests as you reach your overnight destination in Lama Hotel. As you descend, you will experience a lighter atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy the scenery from a more relaxed perspective.

Day 7

Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi via Sherpagaun

Today is your final trekking day in the Langtang Valley route. Your journey takes you on an alternative trail, from your initial ascent, toward the picturesque Sherpagaun. This path offers new views of the terraced fields and allows you to immerse yourself in the Tamang and Sherpa cultures before descending to your overnight destination in Syabrubesi.

Day 8

Drive back from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

Your 8-day Langtang Valley Trek in Nepal concludes today. After breakfast at your Syabrubesi lodge, you will board a shared vehicle/bus to the capital city of Kathmandu. The journey is long, allowing you to reflect on your incredible Himalayan adventure. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel in Thamel.

The cost of the Langtang Valley Trekking varies from $400-$800 depending upon the number of days you choose to trek. The longer the trek, more expensive it will become. Similarly, the price will differ with the accommodation choices and group sizes also. Normally, Nature Lovers Treks and Tours offers a comprehensive package which is inclusive of all the cost and expenses for the entire journey from the moment you land in Nepal till the moment you fly back home. However, you could also choose to buy only service-based package from us when we will be providing you only the supporting field staffs plus trekking permits and you have to arrange the rest by yourselves.

In Langtang Valley Trekking, we will provide you the teahouse accommodations. A teahouse is typically a mountain lodge which is a combination of a lodge or a guest house and a restaurant or a café with basic furniture and interiors suitable for the social hangout. Many teahouses even have attached bathrooms and the central heating furnace. Most of the teahouses provide the European toilets these days while Asian style of toilets are available in every teahouses. Hot showers are available but on extra cost. The same goes with the hot drinking water since they use the gas or solar to boil the water. Sleeping blankets are usually provided but we recommend you to carry your own sleeping bags for the hygienic purpose {can be arranged on request}. At the same time, it’s better to carry your own toiletries including the towels.
