The day begins in the early morning cold with the soft smell of burning wood and a warm cup of hot water in your hands while enjoying the Himalayan views.

After a traditional breakfast such as Gurung bread with ginger lemon tea, you begin the day with the energetic “Jam Jam dai” spirit. The trail includes ups and downs through rhododendron forests, stone paths, and occasionally slippery sections while passing through local villages.

Along the way, you will see villagers carrying goods in doko baskets, others using donkeys, and many working in terraced fields. Friendly locals often greet trekkers with warm smiles.

After 3 to 4 hours of walking, you stop at a teahouse along the trail for lunch. A traditional Nepali meal such as Dal Bhat with tarkari is a popular choice to restore energy. Other menu options are also available. Before continuing, you can rest and refill your water bottles.

The afternoon hike usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. Weather conditions can change quickly in the evening, and rain is possible. Upon reaching the teahouse, you can relax with a cup of tea in the dining area near the heating stove.

Before dinner, you may share stories, play cards, or enjoy conversations with fellow trekkers. After dinner, your guide will provide a short briefing about the next day’s plan. Before going to bed, you can take time to reflect and write about your day.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek - 6 Days Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Your journey began early in the morning from the Kathmandu. After having breakfast, the travel starts on tourist bus through the Prithvi Highway along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi river. The drive offers the small village, traced fields, green hills, woods, local markets (like Fish, Banana, food etc)and flowing rivers.

By late afternoon or evening, you arrive in the Pokhara valley. Then you will check in hotel and rest as well as enjoy the pokhara's nightlife.

Day 2

Drive from Pokhara to Ulleri(2,050m)& Trek to Ghorepani(2,860m)

While you are having yours breakfast, the guide brings you the cab and head to the bus park. From here the jounery began with the jeep while sharing until the ulleri. From where you experience the Himalayan off-road adventure. The trek began from the ulleri with the famous stone steps around (3200 steps). Before reaching Ghorepani, the trails are full of blooming rhododendron, lush forest and small waterfall with bridge.

After 5 to 6hrs of trek you began to see the yellow coated Gate writing "Welcome to Ghorepani Poon Hill" and the blue-proof houses. You can also explore the small town where you can find the Himalayan wool made items and other more, interesting you can see the peoples playing basketball & volleyball on the court where you can also join them.

Day 3

Early morning hike to Poon Hill(3,210m)& trek To Tadapani(2,630m)

Waking up early on the morning around 4:30 am while leaving yours warm bed is hard but of the main highlight of the trek we shall! After getting ready, the hike begins in darkness before the sunrises on Poon hill. From where the magical sunrise view of Mt.Machhapuchhre, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range and others also can be experienced.

After returning to teahouse for breakfast, we head towards the Tadapani, at the first hour we would climb up till the deurali pass (3,030m) then descend in lush forest filled with blooming rhododendrons, stone paths with high cliffs surroundings us and also flowing water path.

Day 4

Trek tadapani (2,630m)to Ghandruk(2,010m)

Hiking downwards is a little bit difficult but to reach the Ghandruk village we will descend through lush forest with the traditional village made of stone houses. On the way there are few memorial place of the villagers loved one.

While staying in Ghadruk village, you can visit the museum that reflects the history of gurung community (Brave Gurkhas). It is also one of the largest villages on the Annapurna region. You can wear there traditional dresses for photo and watch the view of Annapurna South, Machhapuchare (Fishtail), Hiunchuli and Gangapurna.

Day 5

Drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara

As the last day of foot journey, we slowly start our day after having breakfast at the tea house. After taking the sharing jeep from landruk until the pokhara. On the way we can see the cultivated lands where potatoes, seasonal green leafy vegetables, corn and others are grown by the villagers. While passing down from the nayapul bridge, it feels like just a day ago we started our trek.

Upon arriving in pokhara after the short ride, you can enjoy the rest of the time sightseeing the various places like lakeside, boating, world peace pagoda and different caves.

Day 6

Drive From Pokhara to Kathmandu

As the last day of our jounery,we have completed the trek and we are heading back from the same route of 7 hrs or take a scenic 30minutes flight from pokhara at additional cost, which offers beautiful views of Himalyans, hill and countryside.
