Mr. Dewan Rai comes from the eastern part of Nepal, from the Kanchenjunga region, where the mountains feel a bit more raw and less crowded. Growing up in that remote area, walking long distances and living close to nature was part of his daily life.
He began his journey in trekking as a porter many years ago. Carrying loads through steep trails, crossing high passes, and staying in simple teahouses gave him a deep, practical understanding of the mountains. Over the decades, with dedication and hard work, he gradually grew into the role of a trekking guide.
Dewan has spent years walking across different regions of the Nepal Himalayas, building strong knowledge of trails, weather patterns, altitude conditions, and local cultures. His experience is not just from training but from real time spent on the mountain in all kinds of conditions.
He is quiet, steady, and very reliable on the trail. He understands the pace of trekking, knows when to slow down, and always keeps an eye on the well-being of his guests.
Trekking with Dewan feels simple and grounded. It feels like walking the mountains with someone who has spent most of his life there and knows every step with care.
