Trekking Guide
Ashok Thapa Magar

Mr. Ashok Thapa Magar comes from the Ruby Valley region of Dhading district, a place where the hills rise quietly and the trails feel close to everyday life. Growing up there, walking long distances was part of his routine, and over time those same trails became the foundation of his guiding career.

He began working in trekking at a very early age in 2012 as a porter. Carrying loads along steep paths, staying in simple lodges, and moving with the rhythm of the mountains taught him the real side of trekking from the ground up. By 2016, he had grown into the role of a full trekking guide, bringing with him not just experience but a deep understanding of what it takes to support guests on the trail.

Ashok also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, which adds a professional layer to his practical knowledge. He combines what he learned in the classroom with years of hands-on experience in the mountains.

He has guided across regions like Annapurna,Everest, and other less crowded trails where the journey feels more personal. He is calm, patient, and naturally attentive. He notices when someone is tired, when to slow down, and when to simply pause and enjoy the view.

Many guests remember the quiet moments with him. Sitting together in a teahouse after a long walk, sharing simple stories, or pointing out peaks in the distance as the light changes in the evening.

With Ashok, trekking feels steady and genuine. It feels like walking through the mountains with someone who truly belongs there.
