Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon is one of the most unique but yet-to-be-widely known adventures that happens only in the country of mountains, Nepal. Entirely different than any other marathon, this is held in the lap of the breathtaking and elegant Everest. First started in the tributes to the duo Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, this remarkable feat is being organized in Nepal once a year on 29th May.
A unique marathon in many ways and has many special features, such as being the highest Marathon in the world (The starting line is 5356m) and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as ‘The Highest Marathon of the World.’ The marathon begins from Everest Base Camp right below the Khumbu Icefall and runs through the Everest Expedition Base Camp, crisscrossing village trails to Namche Bazaar. There are three desired categories, 60 km Extreme Ultra, 42 km Full Marathon and 21 Km Half Marathon. The Marathon runs through the Highest Glaciers and Moraines around a stretch of 10km and passes through the traditional route to Everest.
We are more than happy to announce that we arrange the bookings for Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon every year. We will always support adventurers worldwide as long as the sky is the limit. Feel free to write to NATURE LOVERS TREKS & TOURS if you have any questions.
