Mera Peak Climbing is one of the finest peak climbing in Nepal which offers a real mountaineering adventure along with the soothing spectacular views. The whole trip leads to a remote and isolated Hinku valley enclosed between giant mountains around South East of Everest region on the far corners.

Mera Peak 6476m is one of the least technical and straightforward trekking peaks of Mid-Eastern Himalaya around Everest region. The summit of the peak is the best view point of the highest mountain ranges including Mt Everest 8848m and Mt Lhotse 8501m to the north, Mt Choyu 8201m, Mt Manaslu 8163m and Mt Ama Damlam 6818m to the west, Mt Kanchenjunga 8586m and Mt Makalu 8463m to the east. Climbing journey to Mera peak starts with a short scenic flight to Lukla first and then heading higher towards hidden Hinku valley away from settlements. As the trekking progresses, we will take it easy with enough rests until we get to the Mera peak base camp and start ascending to the summit. Our expert teams will lead you through, safely and successfully. The journey concludes with another sweeping flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Mera Peak Climbing Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2800m and trek to Chutenga 3450m 5hrs

Early morning transfer to domestic airport for the short scenic flight to Lukla. After a short refreshing rest, first day walking adventure starts. Walking past the villages and farm lands with great scenery of hills and valleys to arrive at Chutanga, a summer pasture surrounded with dense pine and rhododendron trees. Chutanga for the first overnight stop.

Day 02: Trek to Thuli Kharka 3900m 6hrs

After overnight at Chutanga, adventure continues with a climb to cross over Kalo Himal Ridge, separating Khumbu area from Hinku Valley and Makalu region. Climb up to the height of 4600m at Zatrwa La, with stunning views of Dudh Kosi river valley, Karyolung and Lumding Himal. Descend down to Thuli Kharka for the overnight stop.

Day 03: Trek to Mosam Kharka 3690m 4hrs

From Thuli-Kharka, a short morning walk will lead with excellent views of Peak 43 and Kusum Kanguru peaks to reach at a scenic valley at Hinku area which offers the astounding views of Mera Peak. We shall get back into rhododendron and pine tree lines after a short nice walk and arrive to the summer pasture, Mosam Kharka for another overnight near Hinku Drangka River.

Day 04: Trek to Tagnak 4350m 5hrs

Walk continues through a pasture again to a small bridge to reach at Gondishung at 4350m, near Tagnak area, a small place with wooden huts of stone walls. Gondishung has an interesting 200 year old small Gompa (monastery). From here walk continues for another hour to our overnight stop at Tagnak, a small yak herder’s temporary settlement.

Day 05: Trek to Khare 4950m 5hrs

After a good rest at Tagnak, morning walk begins with a moderate walk for about 5 hours and then climb over moraine, damming Charpatti Tal (lake), then leading to a high area lined with cairns overlooking glacial lake. Continue further to Khare for overnight stop.

Day 06: Rest and acclimatization day

Day 07: Trek to Mera Peak Base Camp 5350m 4hrs

Today, our journey leads to our main destination, Mera peak base camp for a classic climb. Walk follows over Mera Glacier, leading straight on ice sections for a short while, and then a gentle descent reaching at Mera Base Camp for overnight camp. 

Day 08: Climb to High camp 5780m 4hrs

It's the time to push forward to set up the high camp so that it's easier for us to do Mera summit the next day. During morning on leaving Mera base camp, trek across Mera La to reach Mera High Camp, after few hours of hard walk. In the afternoon, our expert guides will check the route for safe climbing, fixing ropes wherever necessary. Rest of the day will be for the preparation of Mera Peak climbing. The high camp offers outstanding vistas of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks.

Day 09: Climb to Mera Peak 6476m and back to Khare 7hrs

A Challenging Day! Starting early morning before dawn, head for the summit. After a strenuous climbing for hours we will arrive at the summit of Mera peak, where your dream turns into a reality. After a hard climb it's time to descend carefully and safely to the base camp. Continue further to Khare.

Day 10: Trek to Khothey 3600m 5hrs

After an awesome lifetime adventure in Mera peak, trek to Khothey through Tagnak for the overnight stop.

Day 11: Trek to Thuli Kharka 6hrs

From Khothey, early morning walk leads back into forested area of blue Himalayan pines and rhododendrons trees, then passing over grazing area to arrive at Thuli Kharka for the last night before Lukla.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla 6hrs

It's gonna be a long day walk today. Starting early in the morning, retrace the journey back with a climb over Kalo Himal ridge crossing Zatrwa-Og and Zatrwa-La, then downhill into green vegetation. After a long downhill descent, you will arrive at Lukla for the last overnight stop in the mountain. Farewell dinner will be held to say goodbye to the local porters.

Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu
