DAY 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Barpak, BLD, Homestay
It is the long day drive to Barpak. It almost takes 7 hours of drive. We will leave early in the morning from Kathmandu. Barpak is the ancient Gurung ethnic village with rich culture and tradition. Also we will stay in homestay with local people.
DAY 02: Trek from Barpak to Laprak, BLD, Homestay
Laprak is 4 hours of walk away from Barpak. It is also the Gurung village with well-preserved culture and tradition. The houses are made of the stone and roofing is made of the wood. As you reach village you can explore the village. Again, today we will stay with the local people in their homestay.
DAY 03: Trek from Laprak to Machhakhola Gaun, BLD, Teahouse
From here we enter the Manaslu trekking area. We will descend to the Machhakhola from Laprak. The trail passes through the forest and sandy river bed of Budhi Gandaki River which leads to Machhakhola. It can take 6 hours of walk to reach the village. We will stay in a teahouse for overnight.
DAY 04: Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat, BLD, Teahouse
After crossing Machhakhola River and Khorla besi, there is a natural hot spring on the way ‘Tatopani’. As the trail passes through the forest, the elevation gets higher so that the scenery completely changes and it looks so stunning. In Jagat, there is a check post so we will check your permits. We will stay in tea house for overnight.
DAY 05: Trek from Jagat to Deng, BLD, Teahouse
As the trail starts to ascend, the view gets more beautiful. As we climb up to Sirdibas we can observe the view of Shringi Himal. The way passes through some suspension bridges and impressive waterfalls on the way. We will walk through the valley of some villages like Ekle Bhatti and Pewa until we reach Deng. We will stay in Teahouse in Deng.
DAY 06: Trek from Deng to Namrung, BLD, Teahouse
The initial walk will descend to the river and then starts to ascend from the valley with small settlement. On the way we can encounter stone manis which is the symbol of entering Tibetan territory. The pleasant walk of about 6 hours will lead to Namrung. We will stay in a teahouse in Namrung. Also you can take a walk around the village afterward.
DAY 07: Trek from Namrung to Samagaun, BLD, Teahouse
Samagaun is a beautiful village of Manaslu region, offering the spectacular views of Mt Manaslu. After passing through the Pungen glacier it leads to the village. As we reach the village we explore nearby places. We will stay overnight in Teahouse in Samagaun.
DAY 08: Explore Pungen Gompa and back to Samagaun, BLD, Teahouse
It is the exploration day and we will be exploring Pungen Gompa which is few hours away from Samagaun. The gompa include small hall and monk’s dormitories. It lies in the end of the grassy land passing through the yak pasture which shares the dramatic view of mountain almost all over from every angles and corners. After spending a good time, we will come back to Samagaun.
DAY 09: Trek from Samagaun to Samdo, BLD, Teahouse
It is a short trekking from Samagaun. As we reach the Samdo we will take some walk around the village and admire the stunning vista of Himalayas. We will stay overnight in a tea house in Samdo.
DAY 10: Trek to Samdo ridge and explore Nepal Tibet border, back to Samdo, BLD, Teahouse
Today we will explore the border of Nepal and Tibet. The steep rocky trail leads to the Samdo ridge. The tranquil environment with fascinating desert landscape, is not any different from the heaven. After spending quality time in the border we will get back to Samdo. We will again stay overnight in Samdo.
DAY 11: Trek from Samdo to Lho, BLD, Teahouse
After we made it to the main highlight of the trip we will trek back the same route. We will get a chance to witness the views of Mt Manaslu from Lho for the last time, there will not be any chances to see Manaslu again from this point onward. As we reach Lho, we can explore Ribung Gompa nearby Lho village. We will stay in Teahouse in Lho.
DAY 12: Trek from Lho to Bihiphedi, BLD, Teahouse
Retracing down the same trail, the way descends through the forest. It almost takes 6-7 hours of walk to reach Bihiphedi. We will stay overnight in Teahouse in Bihiphedi.
DAY 13: Trek from Bihiphedi to Philim, BLD, Teahouse
Philim is the big village of Manaslu region with the modern facilities like banking, shopping, school and more. It is a kind of headquarter for the people of upper Manaslu region since it is hard and far to go to market from the upper areas. It is inhabited with mixed ethnic communities of Gurung, Magar, Tamang and so on. We will stay overnight in Teahouse in Philim.
DAY 14: Trek from Philim to Khorlabesi, BLD, Teahouse
Today is the last day of walking on your feet and also the last day in MCAP. We will check your permit in Jagat and head downwards to Khorlabesi. We will stay overnight in a Teahouse in Khorlabesi.
DAY 15: Drive from Khorlabesi to Kathmandu, BL.
After having breakfast, we will take a private jeep from Khorlabesi to Kathmandu. It is the long drive of about 9-10 hours. As you reach Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel.
