Everest Mani Rimdu Festival Trek is about trekking journey to the Everest region mainly to observe and celebrate the famous Himalayan festival Mani Rimdu amidst the local Sherpa crowds. Mani Rimdu is one of the most popular and exciting Sherpa festivals, which is celebrated high in the Himalayas, mainly at Tengboche Monastery, Thame Monastery and Chiwang Monastery of Solukhumbu or Everest region of Nepal. A nineteen-day sacred festival is concluded with the three days public festivals when we can join their celebration. The colorful festival Mani Rimdu is all about dancing and prayers which, depict the value of Buddhism and Buddhist teachings celebrating the triumph of Buddhism over the Bon religion.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2,860 m and  trek to Phakding 2,610 m (3 hours), BLD, Teahouse

Fly to Lukla in the very first early hours in the morning. You will be amazed with the panoramic aerial view of the Himalayas. After you start the first day trekking in the mountain, Kusum Kanguru 6,367 m will be alluringly visible in your trail along with the lush green valleys. Trek to Phakding to be warmly welcomed by the beautiful staffs in the lodge.

Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m (5 hours), BLD, Teahouse

A very spectacular view awaits you today. The first glimpse of the Mount Everest along with the panoramic view of Thamserku, Kwangde and Khumbila is just out of this world. Walk steep uphill to get to Namche Bazaar, a central trading town of the Sherpa people.

Day 03: Rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, BLD, Teahouse

An important day for the acclimatization when you can do some wonderful excursions around the Sagarmatha National Park headquarter, the Everest view hotel and the Sherpa Cultural Museum.

Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3,860 m (5 hours), BLD, Teahouse

The easy trail leads to the Dudh Koshi River valley towards Phunke Tenga. Then the ascending trail leads to the Tengboche. Tengboche is very famous for its Tengboche monastery, which is the biggest monastery of the Khumbu or Everest region. Throughout the trail, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of natural beauty consisting of rivers, hills and Himalayan peaks.

Day 05: Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche Monastery, BLD, Teahouse

Today marks the very first public day of the festival when Wong (The Empowerment) ceremony will be done. Everyone coming to the festival will receive the sacred Mani Rilwu and Tshereel (the sacred pills).

Day 06: Mani Rimdu festival second day, BLD, Teahouse

In the second day, Chham (The Dances) will be performed. The symbolic demons, the evil are shown to be conquered by the Protectors of Dharma, the good.

Day 07: Mani Rimdu festival third day, BLD, Teahouse

The Fire Puja (Jinsak) will be held in the third day of this auspicious festival. This performance will be an offering to the fire of god, Agni and to the Gods of Mandala to diminish all harm in the world.

Day 08: Trek from Tengboche to Namche (4 hours), BLD, Teahouse

After enjoying the Mani Rimdu festival and saying farewell to the monks and the locals, today right after the breakfast, we will retrace back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 09: Trek from Namche to Lukla (6 hours), BLD, Teahouse

It was just like yesterday since we began this journey and we’ve already come to the end of our memorable adventure. After an interesting festival trekking for a number of days, we’ve come to the pleasant walking day to continue and ultimately arrive at Lukla for spending the last night in the Everest region.

Day 10: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu 35 minutes, B.

Today is the last day in the Everest region. We will transfer you to the airport for flying back to Kathmandu. End of journey.
